Chunky antique curb chain dating to the early 20th century. This chain would have originally been made for and worn with a gentleman's pocket watch. During it's 104 year life it's been re-arranged to make a double strand bracelet. The curb links are graduated in size with each stamped with the lion for silver. One end terminates with a large jump ring and the other with a large dog clip. Circa 1910s, British in origin.
I love this chain for it's wave look. Each individual curb link has a swell appearance and the matching sides graduate, creating a very gentle wave up and down. Circa early 20th century.
Hallmarked for sterling silver, assayed in Chester, date letter for 1916.
Measures approx 19 cm / 7.5 inches wearable length. Curb links are between 6.1 mm and 8.65 mm wide. It could be arranged to make a necklace of approx 15 inches.
Weighs 42.4 grams.
