Antique shield shape locket crafted in 9 carat gold. Engine turned details form stripes along the front and back of this locket. In the centre of the front is a blank cartouche. The top of the shield is adorned with foliate designs. Inside the locket is a frame on each side and the plastic covering for one photo. This locket closes secures and would make a wonderful gift to a loved one. Circa 1910s, British in origin.
Hallmarked for 9 carat gold, Birmingham 1911. There is also a maker's mark A.E.J. for Albert Ernest Jenkins, a Birmingham based jeweller in the early 20th century.
Measures approx 3.5 cm / 1.4 inches tall not including the bail by 2.2 cm / 0.86 inches wide.
Weighs 4.9 grams.
