Beautiful Art Nouveau gold-filled phoenix pin brooch by Oria of Paris . The bird is beautifully carved, with highly detailed wings and curving tail. In it's mouth is a bezel set red glass paste stone, meaning to simulate a ruby gemstone. This brooch fastens with an older C style clasp. Circa early 20th century, French in origin.
In very good condition with light wear in keeping with age and use.
Made of gold fill by La Maison Oria of Paris. Oria was established in 1867 and is widely regarded as being the maker of the highest quality gold fill jewellery with a look to imitate solid gold.
Measures approx 23.1 mm / 0.90 inches tall by 43 mm / 1.70 inches wide.
