Antique three stone gypsy set ring dating to the late Victorian era. This stunner of a ring is flush set with three gemstones. A gorgeous cushion shaped old mine cut diamond is set between elongated cushion cut blue sapphires. The sapphires are a deep blue which perfectly flatters the colour of the diamond. All three of the antique gemstones have high crowns and small tables which makes for a lovely side view! They are set into bright 18 carat yellow gold which is nicely domed in shape and tapers toward the back of the shank. This ring has very clear hallmarks dating to the 1880s.
Diamond: old mine cut of approx 4.7 mm by 4 mm by 3.64mm deep and calculated in setting as 0.52 carat, J / K colour, VS2 / SI1 clarity.
Sapphires: 2, deep blue cushion cut. Each measures approx 4.2 mm by 3.2 mm to total 0.60 carats together as calculated within the limits of the mounting. Both sapphires show facet wear and abrasion.
Hallmarked for 18 carat gold, London assay office, date letter 1882.
