Gorgeous antique engraved wedding ring dating to the early 20th century. This Victorian 18ct yellow gold wide band is engraved in a foliate pattern. Sets of two to four flower blossoms alternate with a bouquets of ivy leaves to form a continuous design. Orange blossoms, which were a favourite of Queen Victoria, symbolise fertility and virtue while the ivy leaf symbolises everlasting love, "I cling to thee". Queen Victoria used orange blossoms in her wedding bouquet to Albert. I think it's beyond sweet that this orange blossom and ivy leaf engraved ring is hallmarked for the final full year of her reign. The fully engraved exterior of this ring is lightly domed and the interior is flat with softened edges for a more comfortable fit. It's wide, beautifully detailed and would make a wonderful easy to wear wedding band. Circa 1900, British in origin.

Hallmarked for 18 carat gold, London assay office, date letter for 1900.
