Antique wide 22 carat gold women's wedding ring. This wedding band dates to the Edwardian era and is wide at just under 5 mm wide. It sits low to the finger with a slightly domed exterior and a flat interior to create a shallow D shape profile.
Traditionally 22 carat gold was used for wedding rings during the 19th century and until World War II when gold was needed for the war effort. The 22 carat gold is a lovely softy rosy shade as is typical for antique gold. Circa early 20th, British in origin.
Hallmarked for 22 carat gold, assayed in Birmingham, date letter for 1906 making this ring 116 years old.
