Diamond engagement ring dating to the mid 20th century. A centre round brilliant cut diamond is mounted into a square shaped top with beaded claws at each corner. Graduated diamonds step down the shoulders. The smaller accent diamonds are set into geometric shapes with an arch to the top and bottom of the setting. A softened knife edge shank slopes up to meet the diamonds and narrows to a D shape profile in the back. Circa 1940s.

Diamonds: centre round brilliant cut measures approx 4.95 mm, 0.45 carats, J colour, SI clarity as calculated within the limits of the mounting. 4 accent diamonds total approx 0.10 carats for a total of 0.55 carats in this ring.

Stamped PL. The top of this ring, where the diamonds are set, is professionally tested and assessed as 18 carat white gold. The shank is tested as platinum. It's likely that this ring has been reshanked from right under the diamonds at some point.
