Vintage single stone diamond engagement ring. A round brilliant cut diamond is set into an engraved illusion style mounting. This style of mounting was popular during the late Art Deco to World War II era as the popularity of giving diamonds for an engagement increased. The setting serves to protect the diamond while the clever engraving immediately around the gemstone serves to make it look larger than it's actual size. Engraving in the shape of baguettes and beads continues down the sloped shoulders of this ring giving way to a medium width court fit / comfort fit yellow gold band. The height and design of this diamond solitaire allow it to be easily worn with a wedding band. Circa mid 1930s - 1940s, British in origin.

Diamond: round brilliant cut, approx 3.4 mm and calculated in setting as 0.12 carats, H / I colour, SI clarity.

Stamped 18ct PLAT. Professionally tested and assessed as 18 carat gold with the diamond set into a platinum top.

Size: UK - I; US - 4 1/2; EU - 48. This ring cannot be made any smaller and can be sized up to N / 6.75 / 54. Sizing available for an additional fee.

Measures approx 6.15 mm wide and rises 5.6 mm tall off the finger.

Weighs 2.4 grams.
