Vintage sapphire and diamond engagement ring.  A blue round cut sapphire is bead set in a platinum topped setting which is lined with miligrain beading.  A single cut diamond is set in each corner inside an engraved star shaped design.  Between the diamonds, the edge of the ring swoops down, curving inward slightly.  The band is 9 carat yellow gold and tapers as it reaches the gemstone decorated top.  Circa 1920s - 1940s, British in origin.

Sapphire: medium blue, approx 3.4 mm and estimated in setting as 0.20 carats.

Diamonds: 4, old single cut, estimated in setting as 0.04 carats total weight.

Hallmarks worn substantially and partially lost. The undercarriage and band test as 9 carat yellow gold and the gemstones are set in a platinum top.
