Vintage lab created ruby ring channel set in platinum. Twenty-four lab created rubies are set in a slender channel of platinum and lined in milgrain beading forming a never ending circle of glittering red gemstones around the finger. The rubies are a vivid, incredible, stunning red colour...and are perfectly matched! The flat solid sides of this ring are crispy hand engraved with a wreath or wheat pattern. Rubies are the birthstone for July and the traditional gift for a 40th anniversary. This ring is circa 1920s - 1930s.

Rubies were first successfully duplicated in a lab setting in the very late 19th century. The breakthrough in technology allowed for much of the beautiful Art Deco jewellery see. With more access to gemstones jewellery designers and craftspeople could choose gems which were perfectly matched in colour and characteristics which meant they could create not only rings like this, but also the other Art Deco jewellery which looks as though a fabulous puzzle has been put together.

In excellent condition. We've has the engraving on the sides touched up and it's in incredible condition!
