A very romantic heart pendant! It depicts part of a French love poem 'The Eternal Song' by Rosemonde Gérard, translated as "And as every day I love you more, Today more than yesterday and much less than tomorrow." With a plus sign in white gold and three bezel set rubies creating a minus sign with the words QU'HIER QUE DEMAIN, than yesterday than tomorrow. The back side of this pendant is plain, shiny and unadorned.
This is a lovely pendant with a small circular line, engine turned style design providing a textured background for the words and symbols. I love how there is no boarder to the heart, it makes it different and striking. Circa 2nd quarter of the 20th century.
In excellent condition!
French hallmarks on top loop, professionally tested and assessed as 18 carat gold which is yellow in colour. There is also a maker's mark of A.A. for Augis both on the top loop and on the engine turned background.
Measures approx 20.5 mm / 0.80 inches tall not including bail by 16.6 mm / 0.65 inches wide.
Weighs 2.1 grams.
