Vintage mid-century diamond engagement ring. This ring is a classic! Set in a six claw platinum mounting is a round brilliant cut diamond. In each of the platinum topped shoulders are three diamonds, six accent diamonds total. The design, first popular at the turn of the 20th century, is very elegant with a tapered setting and the classic two-tone yellow gold and platinum look.
This diamond has a large table, lower crown, and is shallow causing it to face up much larger than it's actual size. This is quite typical of mid 20th century diamonds as the cutting style was changing from old European cuts to modern round brilliants and cutters were experimenting with diamond cuts.
Diamonds: centre round brilliant cut diamond, measures approx 5.7 mm and is calculated in setting as 0.64 carats, J / K colour, SI1 / SI2 clarity. 6 eight cut diamonds total approx 0.04 carats together for a total of 0.68 carats in this ring, calculated as setting permits.
