Vintage graduated moonstone necklace. Forty moonstones are bezel / rubover set in sterling silver. Each setting is linked together with a pair of jump ring to form a chain of moonstones around the neck. The moonstones are perfectly and subtly graduated in size. This necklace dates to the second half of the 20th century.

Moonstones: 40, oval in shape, cabochon cut. The largest is approx 1 mm by 7.25 mm including the bezel and the smallest is approx 6.25 mm by 5 mm. The moonstones show a silvery blue and have good adularescence .

Marked 925 for sterling silver on the clasp and tests as such throughout.

Measures 50.8 cm / 20 inches long.

Weighs 10.25 grams.

The box is not included. Because moonstone is such a translucent stone it tends to show it's colours better on colours other than white.
