Vintage Engagement Ring & Wedding Band Set, 1940s Round & Baguette Cut Diamond Matched 14k Rings.Add to Wishlist
Vintage diamond engagement ring and wedding band set. The centre round brilliant cut diamond is housed in a square and held with triple claw prongs. This centre diamond is flanked by a straight cut baguette and a round cut diamond creating a dot dash dot dash pattern. The coordinating wedding band is set with six diamonds, two round in the middle where the engagement ring centre stone is, in the same pattern and design so that the diamonds line up perfectly on the finger when the rings are worn together. The bands of these rings are rounded and simple in profile.
Dot dash patterns were popular in the 1940s and 1950s. Themes in the larger world, such as Morse Code and code use during WW2, are often mimicked in jewellery of that time period.
