Amazing emerald and diamond drop pendant. Shaped like an elongated teardrop, this pendant is polished and shiny at the top. This leads to a line of round cut diamonds which split, making a halo around a graduated set of step cut vividly green emeralds. The emeralds are such a stunning colour! They just pop against a slender yellow bezel edge. The diamonds are set into a shared claw design and gently graduate both down the top to where they emeralds as well as around the halo toward the base of the pendant. The side view shows off a simple circle and line design.
This piece is a conversion. I think it might have originally been a brooch, we're unsure as there was no indication where a pin might have been. We've decided it suits as pendant so we've carefully added a hidden bail to the back. The original piece is likely circa 1920s - 1930s, modern conversion.
Emeralds: 5 total, the largest of which is 5.4 mm x 3.8 mm x 2.7 mm deep. They taper in size and total approx 0.50 carats as calculated within the limits of the mounting. The gemologist noted on the report that they have strong saturation and show evidence of minor clarity enhancement as is common with emeralds.
Diamonds: 29 total, single cut and older round cuts measuring between 1.3 mm to 2.0 mm each total approx 0.40 carats together, G / H colour, SI clarity as calculated within the limits of the mounting.
