Vintage diamond engagement ring. This single stone ring is set with a diamond in an illusion style top. The illusion, popular in the mid 20th century, serves to protect the diamond and make it look larger. In a post-war era, as diamonds were just becoming popular, this was a design which was brought to life by clever jewellers so that having a diamond ring was more affordable for all. The cathedral style shoulders are engraved with a geometric design and accented in milgrain beading. The band is plain, D shape in profile, and plain yellow gold. Circa 1940s, British in origin.

Diamond: round brilliant cut, approx 2.7 mm, 0.09 carats, J / K colour, I1 clarity as calculated within the limits of the mounting.

Stamped 9ct & PLAT. This ring is professionally tested and assessed as 9 carat yellow gold and the very top around the diamond as platinum.

Size: UK - K; US - 5.5; EU - 16. This ring can be sized between J / 4.75 / 15,75 and O / 7.25 / 17,5. Sizing available for an additional fee.
