Vintage Diamond Engagement Ring, Exquisite Ribbon Design 0.25 ct. 18ct & Platinum.Add to Wishlist
Vintage diamond engagement ring in a single stone design. This diamond solitaire holds a round brilliant cut diamond in an incredible exquisite mounting. The diamond itself is bead set in an illusion style collet. The high mount flares under the diamond making the diamond appear larger while keeping it safe. Ribbons are engraved on either side of the diamond in an off-set style, each facing the opposite way. This design is particularly lovely. From the top this ring appears to be all white on the finger however the slender court shape / comfort fit band is yellow gold.
This style of ring was popular right after World War II. Diamonds were becoming a more popular choice for engagement rings and a beautiful mounting such as this allowed the diamond to be shown off and appear larger. Circa 1940s - 1950s, British in origin.
Diamond: round brilliant cut diamond, approx 4 mm and calculated in setting as 0.25 carats, H/I colour, SI clarity within the limits of the mounting.
Stamped 18ct PLAT. Professionally tested and assessed as 18 carat yellow gold with the top around the diamond collet in platinum.
