Vintage blue zircon and diamond engagement ring. A vivid blue rectangular shape, step cut blue zircon shines from within it's diamond halo. The zircon has a lovely facet pattern and a nice high crown. It's not often we find blue zircons in step cuts. Framing the blue zircon is a halo of twelve single cut diamonds. The diamonds are set into a diamond cut top which gives the impression of there being more diamonds. Adding to this effect is a row of delicate milgrain beading right at the outer edge of the blue zircon. The gemstones are set into a white top on a slender gold band which pinches in near the gemstone set top. Circa mid 20th century.
Blue zircon: bright blue, rectangular in shape, step cut measuring approx 7 mm by 6 mm and calculated as 1.90 carats within the limits of the mounting.
Diamonds: 12, single cut, approx 0.24 carats together, in the near colourless range and eye clean as calculated within the limits of the mounting.
Stamped 18ct PLAT. Professionally tested and assessed as 18 carat yellow gold band with the claws on the blue zircon in platinum.
Size: UK - M; US - 6.25; EU - 16,75. This ring can be sized between I.5 / 4.5 / 15,25 and T / 9.75 / 19,5. Sizing available for an additional fee.
Measures approx 13 mm by 10.7 mm on top by 6.4 mm deep at zircon, 2 mm band.
Weighs 3.9 grams.
