Vintage amethyst drop earrings set in 14 carat gold. An elongated pear cut purple amethyst is set in multiple gold prongs. The collet holding the pear is articulated and swings gently from the gold hooks which are set with a round cut at their base. The hooks are shallow so that the top amethyst sits just at the base of the earlobe. Gold collets are crafted in a Victorian style, lots of little delicate claws with a slight design at their bases. These look to be circa mid 1920s - 1940s.

In very good condition showing only the most minor wear to the facets. In the model photo the top amethyst looks substantially lighter than the bottom one, this is simply due to the light reflection on the top stone.

Amethyst: 2 round of approx 5 mm each, and 2 pear shape of approx 13 mm by 6.5 mm

Not marked, professionally tested and assessed as 14 carat gold, which is yellow in colour.

Measures approx 29 mm / 1.15 inches long by 7.4 mm wide at widest point.

Weigh 1.9 grams, approx 0.9 grams to 1 gram each.
