Wonderful owl sitting on a moon pendant crafted in two tone 9 carat gold. An owl - I believe it to be a Long-eared Owl but I'm happy to be corrected! - sits proudly on a waning crescent moon. The owl is nicely modelled with a white gold chest and textured yellow gold wings and head. Small diamonds are inset to create bright, shiny eyes. The moon is smooth and curved, reflecting light just like...well, the moon. This sweet piece is both a pendant and a brooch with the pin across the back and a hidden loop behind the top of the moon for wearing as a pendant.

I love the poem The Owl and the Pussy-Cat by Edward Lear. My mum read it to be a lot as a child and this piece reminds me of the final line, "They danced by the light of the moon.". Circa 1990s, British in origin.

Measures approx 27.5 mm / 1.1 inches tall by 22.5 mm / 0.90 inches wide. The bail / loop for the pendant is approx 2.75 mm by 1.75 mm and the chain end or dog clip that you want to use should either be smaller than this or we may be able to alter the bail to make it larger though we're limited in size to keep it hidden if worn as a brooch.

Weighs 8 grams. This is a heavier pendant.
