Striking vintage synthetic sapphire cocktail ring in 9 carat yellow gold. What a treat this ring is! A huge 18 carat lab created sapphire is set in a very retro, very stylish mounting. The step cut sapphire is a brilliantly golden yellow in colour and is held by claws to each of it's corners. When viewed on the finger the lined detail of the basket holding the stone can be seen. The same detail continues down the shank forming a split shank design before the band tapers to a narrower width at the back. Circa 1960s, British in origin.

Synthetic sapphire: bright golden yellow in colour, rectangular shape, step cut. Measures approx 16.3 mm by 14.3 mm, calculated as approx 18 carats within the limits of the mounting.

Hallmarked for 9 carat gold, assayed in London, 1960.
