Striking large opal pendant crafted in 18 carat white gold. What a wonderful pendant! The elongated oval shape oval is elegant and the flashes of green and blue are incredibly playful and whimsical. It's smooth and nearly flat on top and the back is shaped into a gentle convex curve. The opal is held in place with flour claws and a teardrop shaped bail complete the pendant. This is a conversion, though we're unsure from what. We found the opal in it's four claw mounting and added a bail to it.
In excellent condition.
Opal: oval in shape, approx 31.05 mm by 11.1 mm with blue and green play of colour, calculated as approx 7.8 carats within the limits of the mounting.
Not marked, professionally tested and assessed as 18 carat gold which is white in colour.
Measures approx 32.5 mm / 1.28 inches tall including attached jump ring but not bail, by 11.1 mm / 0.45 inches wide.
Weighs 2.95 grams. Sold without chain.
