Circular antique Victorian sterling silver earrings. These wonderful earrings are intricate and beautifully designed. The backs are slightly convex with a diamond registration mark on the back edge of one. To the centre is a large beehive shape which give these earrings amazing presence from the side as well as from the front. At the bottom of the beehive is a beaded edge, this entire section can spin within the rest of the earring. Stepped down in a tiered shape are another two layers, both with a beaded edge. These beads coordinate but are different with the upper section having more rounded beads around the edge and the bottom tier having more pointed beads around the edge. At the top is a swirled flourish which connects to an earwire which has a large puffed bead by where they are connected and articulate. This is a stunning design, just as modern today as it was over 100 years ago when these earrings were made! Circa late 19th century.

Not marked, professionally tested and assessed as sterling silver. There is a diamond registration on the back of one. These were sometimes stamped or applied on pieces between 1842 - 1883. This one is worn and illegible so we cannot tell the exact date - maybe 1865.

Measures approx 3.9 cm / 1.55 inches in length by 2.1 cm / 0.82 inches in width.

Weigh 7.8 grams together, approx 3.9 grams each.
