Victorian long 9 carat gold guard chain inset with nine turquoise gems. The chain is a simple 2 mm wide trace style link with bezel / rub over set turquoise spaced around the length. This long chain has no clasp and can be easily slipped over the head to be worn doubled or tripled. There is a bolt ring to which both ends of the chain connect. A clasp could be added or the bolt ring used to attach a pendant or charm holder. Circa 1860s, European in origin.

Turquoise: 9, oval shape, varying in colour as expected in natural stones. Largest is approx 5.6 mm wide including the bezel.

Marked 9ct on the bolt ring, no other markings. Tested as 9 carat gold throughout.

Measures 131 cm / 51.5 inches long.

Weighs 16.7 grams.
