Antique sterling silver demi-parure dating to the Victorian era. This set consists of an engraved floral brooch and coordinating earrings. Both pieces fit into an antique case which appears to be original to them. Circa 1880s, British in origin.

The brooch is circular in shape with a raised forget me not adornment. Around the edges is a stunning fan design accented with beads. Between these two raised tiered sections is a lower section with an engraved ridged pattern.

The earrings are puffed with the centre highest section decorated with a raised oak leaf design. The lower edge mimics the beaded design in the brooch. These earrings secure with a simple kidney shaped ear wire for pierced ears. They are articulated so that the circle shaped drop swings as one moves.

The box is a beautiful shape, widest at the centre where the brooch fits and tapering toward the smaller earrings. It's wood and covered in a leatherette material, accented with a gold edge. The inside is a black velvet material base with a white satin lid. The hinges are in good condition, but the clasp is not. It looks as though it's been drop or forced at some point so the clasp no longer works. It'd be a shame to separate the box from it's contents so even though it's not in perfect condition, it's being sold with this demi-parure.

The brooch is fully hallmarked on the back for sterling silver, Chester assay office, date letter for 1886. The earrings are not hallmarked, professionally tested and assessed as sterling silver throughout.

Earrings measure 2.6 cm / 1.02 inches long by 1.58 cm / 0.62 inches wide. Weigh 2.25 grams together.

Brooch measures 3.25 cm / 1.28 inches in diameter. It is fitted with an old C style clasp and the pin is steel, as was common. Weighs 4 grams.
