Victorian aesthetic movement etched silver book chain. This chain is simply incredible! Circular links are etched with the prettiest nature designs. We've found several different design including swallows, fern leaves, flower blossoms, cranes, ivy leaves and other foliate designs. This intricate chain, made of folded silver links (hence, book chain!) would have been for a large cameo, locket or statement pendant originally. The adjustable length is wonderful, making it easy to wear. Circa late 19th century, 1880s - 1900, likely British in origin.

Not marked, professionally tested and assessed as sterling silver throughout.

Measures approx 49.5 cm / 19.5 inches in total wearable length. The longer section is approx 45.5 cm / 18 inches and the shorter section 4 cm / 1.5 inches. 10 mm at widest point.
