Victorian 9k Torpedo Drop Earrings, Antique Cannetille Wire Work Design, 9ct Gold.Add to Wishlist
Victorian torpedo shaped drop earrings. These long drop earrings are tapered in shape with an applied wire work in a cannetille style filigree design. The wire work consists of five graduated straight lines made of a twisted detail with a little dot of gold at the terminating ends. The middle line has an extra little beaded floral style detail. At the bottom end of the drop is a little golden sphere. These earrings are pierced with a hook style ear wire. Date to the late 19th century, British in origin.
These earrings are in overall good condition with a small bit of one of the lines missing on one earring. On the other earring are two small dents, both on the side, on near the top by the ear wire and other at the widest part.
Stamped 9ct, tested and assessed as 9 carat gold. There is also a maker's mark, W.N. in a diamond shape. We think this may be William Neale.
Measure approx 5.8 cm / 2.28 inches long and 7.66 mm wide at widest point.
