Victorian 9ct Gold Door Knocker Earrings, Large 9k Lightweight Engraved Dangle Earrings.Add to Wishlist
Antique 9ct large door knocker style earrings dating to the Victorian era. These dangle earrings are big and bold in style, but remain lightweight thanks to their puffed design. The tapered drops are engraved all over, a wheat design down the top centre with scrolls and loops on the stepped down sides. This design split, forming a hoop engraved with flowers in the centre of which swings a large golden sphere. These earrings are articulated in two places, at the base of the smaller sphere at the ear wire, and the sphere in the centre of the hoop. Circa late 19th century, Victorian era.
In very good condition for their age, having minor dents, one on it's side and on the backside of the bottom sphere.
Stamped 9ct on the back of one of the earrings. Professionally tested and assessed as 9 carat gold throughout. The gold is yellow in colour.
Measure approx 5.5 cm / 2.15 inches long by 2.1 cm / 0.83 inches wide at widest point.
Weigh 3.9 grams together, just under 2 grams each. These are lightweight earrings, particularly for their size.
