Victorian MIZPAH band crafted in 18 carat yellow gold. This ring is wide at the front with the raised Gothic style capital letters plain and shiny, standing out against a textured background. The letters taper in size, smallest at a M and H and widest at the Z and P. At the each end is an engraved flourish, accenting this incredible sentiment.

Mizpah means the Lord watch between me and thee, when we are absent one from another. The sentiment was popular during the Victorian era with rings and other items of jewellery exchanged between lovers. Circa 1890s, British in origin.

In excellent condition, crisp and clear lettering and hallmarks!
