Antique Victorian coiled snake ring. What a friendly snake this is! Crafted in 18 carat yellow gold he coils three times around the finger to form a wide band. His face is chubby and sweet with engraved eyes and a mouth. The wires forming this ring are half round in shape giving great depth to each coil. Fully hallmarked and dating to the late Victorian era, 1870s.
Diamond: old mine cut, approx 2.9 mm, 0.10 carats as estimated within the limits of the mounting.
Full hallmarks for 18 carat gold, assayed in Birmingham, date letter Y for 1873.
