Antique Victorian 15ct buckle locket. This early Victorian photograph locket engraved with a belt buckle on the front. During the Victorian era buckles were used to symbolise loyalty and binding love. Inside this locket has a bevelled edge glass compartment which contains a lock of hair. The other side is engraved with a personal inscription, "F.M.A. Jan 26, 1857. This piece is 160 years old and is probably a memorial locket.
Not marked, professionally tested as 15 carat gold.
Measures approx 1.97 cm / 0.78 inches tall including bail but not jump ring by 1.7 cm / 0.67 inches wide.
Weighs 3.1 grams.
