An absolutely exquisite Victorian gold mourning ring.  This ring is designed as a band with an engraved design of sunbursts in the middle and dots along the outer edges.  Weaving around the sunburst design is an inlay of black enamel which forms little oval shapes all the way around.  Further little black enamel dots decorate the edges at even intervals.  This ring is in excellent condition and dates to the late Victorian period, circa 1880s - 1900s, European in origin.

Enamel is a glass which is applied in a liquid or powder form and then heated so that it melts into the desired form.  Because of the more delicate nature of enamel this ring is unable to be sized.

Not hallmarked, tested as 15 carat gold.

Size: UK - U 1/2;  US - 10 1/3;  EU - 63.  This ring cannot be sized.

Measures 4.35 mm wide and rises 0.55 mm tall off the finger.

Weighs 1.9 grams.
