Vintage blue sapphire ring dating to the mid 20th century. This sweet ring holds a good sized 5.6 mm dark blue sapphire in eight claws. Stepping down the shoulders are synthetic white spinels, two at the top, one under it, and then an engraved beaded design leading to the gold shank. This is a lovely, classic design which is easy to wear. Sapphire in the birthstone for September. Circa 1940s, British in origin.
Sapphire: round cut, dark blue in colour, approx 5.6 mm and calculated in setting as 0.60 carats, facing up large for it's size due to it being less deep.
Spinel: 6, white in colour, probably lab created which would be typical for the time period, approx 1.3 mm each each.
Stamped 9ct. Professionally tested and assessed as 9 carat gold.
Size: UK - M.5; US - 6.5; EU - 17. This ring can be sized between J / 4.75 / 15,5 and O.5 / 7.5 / 17,75. Resizing available for an additional fee.
Measures approx 6.1 mm wide by 4.95 mm deep at sapphire. 1.6 mm band.
