Retro amethyst single stone ring set in 14 karat yellow gold. A large cushion cut deep purple amethyst is set in double claw prongs. The mounting is cathedral in style with a undulating ring of gold around the base of the amethyst. The band is polished to a bright, shiny finish and the ring around the gemstone is matte finish. The royal purple amethyst looks lovely against the the two different textures of gold. Circa 1960s, believed German in origin.
