Big and bold garnet and diamond cocktail ring. This ring certainly isn't shy or retiring! A rather large red garnet is set above a double halo of diamonds to create the most wonderful effect. Flanking the garnet are old European cut diamonds. Bead set old cut and single cut diamonds fill in the rest of the circle forming a halo. Smaller diamonds form another layer, like a wedding cake, and the bead setting forms a crimped style edge. The underside of the gemstone setting is unadorned and convex, holding the diamonds on a pedestal. A single engraved feather or leaf curves into place, bridging the gemstone setting to the narrow band. Circa mid 20th century.

Garnet: measures 10.85 mm by 8.70 mm and calculated as 3.5 carats within the limits of the mounting.

Diamonds: old European cut and single cut. 2 x 3mm = 0.22 carats, 14 x 1.75 mm = 0.28 carats, and 26 x 1.5 mm = 0.39 carats for a total carat weight of 0.89 together. The largest diamonds are clean, clear and white. Four of the 26 diamonds of the smaller 1.5 mm diamonds in the outer halo show surfer abrasions and chips.

Stamped 18ct, professionally tested and assessed as 18 carat white gold.
