Antique 9 carat gold heart shaped clasp charm. This heart is designed in a lock style shape. Unusually both the front and back sides are fully engraved! The front is engraved is a beautiful scrolling design foliate pattern. The back is adorned in ivy. Since ivy takes hold it's meaning in antique jewellery is simply that, I cling to thee, a romantic sentiment. We love that it's the back side, the side you'd wear against your skin, facing only the wearer, which is decorated in ivy. A sweet sentiment purely for the wearer to know. A top loop clicks into place, allowing this heart to be secured to an item. The clasp is tight and holds very well. At the side of the loop is a small bail to allow this item to threaded through a safety chain. This versatile piece can be worn as a charm, clasp or pendant. Circa 1910s, British in origin.

The plain sides near the point of the heart are hand engraved, "D.P." on one side and "1914".

Stamped 9ct and the maker's mark ACC. Professionally tested and assessed to the 9 carat gold standard. We've been unable to identify the maker.
