Antique opal drop earrings. These are super sweet! Oval shape, opal cabochons are set in four claws to the north, south, west and east. From the side view, you can see the arches between each claw. When viewing from the top these arches just peak out of the edge, gently framing the opal. The opals are white in body colour with flashes of orange, green and blue. The gemstones swing from gold hooked ear wires. Circa late 19th to early 20th century, 1890s - 1910s.
Opals: oval in shape, cabochon cut, approx 11.2 mm by 8.2 mm each.
Not marked, professionally tested and assessed as 9 carat gold, which is yellow in colour.
Approx 23 mm / 0.90 inches in length by 9.4 mm / 0.37 inches wide.
Weigh 2 grams, approx 1 gram each.
