Opal bezel set single stone ring. The oval shape, cabochon cut gemstone has a lovely play of colour, streaks of mostly blues and oranges running through the opal as it catches the light. The opal is set in a wide, polished gold bezel with has a slight curve up to it, reflecting light back to the viewer. The shoulders feature the same concave style as the bezel but in a pear drop shape which points down the shank. With the bezel this ring takes up most the space from side to side and knuckle to knuckle making it very noticeable! Circa mid 20th century.

Opal: oval shape, cabochon cut measuring approx 13 mm by 9.5 mm. White body in colour with streaks of blue and orange and occasional spots of green.

Stamped 585, professionally tested and assessed as 14 carat yellow gold.
