Antique five stone diamond engagement ring in platinum. What bling! Five old mine cut diamonds are set in intricate double claw design collets. These diamonds are just stunning! They have wonderfully high crown, wee tiny tables and large open culets. Matching beautifully in colour, these diamonds are slightly graduated in size. They curve gently around the finger so the light catches them from all angles. It's hard not to love a five stone ring. They dress up for a bit for a flashy party, dress down with jeans and a t-shirt, and the best of them, like this one, are set high enough to pair with a wedding ring but low enough for daily wear. The collets are a simple double claw from the top with a pretty detailed look from the sides. A narrow D shape profile band completes this late Victorian ring perfectly. Circa late 19th century, 1880s.
Diamonds: 5, old mine cut, total 1.00 carat total weight, G / H colour, SI2 / P1 clarity as calculated within the limits of the mounting.
Centre is approx 3.95 mm wide and 0.30 carats. Flanking stones are approx 3.9 mm and calculated as 0.22 and 0.18 carats. End stones are approx 3.4 and 3.5 mm and calculated as 0.15 carats each.
The diamonds have some natural internal inclusions which are easy to spot under 10x magnification. We cannot see the inclusions in natural or indoor lighting without the aide of a loupe. The diamonds are white and well matched.
