Retro men's old cut diamond and synthetic ruby ring. This ring is all kinds of cool! Dating to the mid 20th century, it's classically retro in design with bold lines and the use of two-tone gold. The star of the show is undoubtedly the old European cut diamond. The diamond pre-dates the mounting by a generation or two. I'm guessing someone made excellent use of a family diamond! The diamond has a small table, very steep crown and large open culet. Running up one side of the diamond and providing the perfect accent is a column of four channel set synthetic rubies. These are a lovely and very vivid pinky red in colour. The gemstone are set into a white top on a fluted gold band which is detailed with ridges continuing all the way around. Circa 1940s - 1950s

Diamond: old European cut, measuring approx 4.7 mm by 2.7 mm and calculated as 0.37 carats, I / J colour, I1 clarity within the limits of the mounting. The diamond has an internal inclusion near where the crown and table facets meet. It can be seen to the unaided eye in good lighting when looking closely. At a normal viewing distance all you see is sparkle!

Rubies: 3, synthetic, square shape, step cut, measuring approx 1.8 mm each.

Stamped 10k.

Size: UK - S; US - 9.25; EU - 19,1. This ring was originally larger in size and has been sized down leaving signs of wear by the stamps. It can be sized back up and is not recommended for resizing smaller.

Measures approx 9.3 mm wide by 3.3 mm deep at rubies. Tapering to 3.55 mm at back centre.

Weighs 4.9 grams.
