Antique 9 carat gold dog clip dating to the early 20th century. Dog clips are incredibly useful! This little sprung clip would have been an end to a chain, such as watch chain or long guard, and used to fobs, pendant or watch. At one end is an soldered jump ring to allow it to be attached to a chain end or that can be used as a bail so that it slides along a chain. This dog clip does not swivel. Circa turn of the 20th century, British in origin.
This dog clip is in good condition with a tight spring and is clearly marked.
Stamped 9 . 375 on exterior as seen in the photo, professionally tested and assessed as 9 carat gold. The gold is rose in colour
Measures approx 29 mm / 1.14 inches tall including the end jump ring by 9.1 mm / 0.36 inches wide.
Weighs 2.6 grams. This is a nice, weighty dog clip.
