Vintage lab created blue spinel cocktail ring. What a stunning ring this is! A chunky 13.5 carat light blue emerald cut spinel is set in a 9 carat yellow gold mounting. The spinel is secured in four claws at it's clipped corners. A wide polished diamond shape creates a cathedral style slope on either side of the gemstone. The band of this ring is just so lovely. It's fully engraved all the way around with a floral blossom design. This is such a lovely design piece with the polished shoulders and contrasting engraved band. Circa mid 20th century, British in origin.
Spinel: lab created, light sky blue, rectangular in shape measuring approx 15.95 mm by 14 mm and calculated as 13.5 carats within the limits of the mounting. Minor facet wear in keeping with age and use.
Hallmarked for 9 carat gold, assayed in Birmingham 1972.
Size: UK - O; US - 7.25; EU - 17,5. This ring can be sized between K.5 / 5.5 / 16,1 and U / 10 / 20. Sizing available for an additional fee. If being resized, the engraved band would need to be adjusted and which would disrupt the pattern leaving an unadorned section.
Measures approx 16.4 mm by 14.5 mm on top by 8.2 mm deep. 3 mm wide band.
