Antique chunky sterling silver chain necklace. This piece would have originally been used as men's pocket watch chain and is more commonly used today as a ladies necklace. In the centre is a t-bar and each side of the chain terminates in a well sprung dog clip. The curb links on the chain are graduated in size adding a bit of extra interest. With crisp, deep stamped hallmarks on each link, this timeless piece can be worn a variety of ways. Circa early 20th century, 1910s, British in origin.

In very good condition. The dog clips are slightly different sizes and have different hallmarks on them. In the photo with 3 chains on a purple background, this is the chain on the right. In the photo with 3 chains on the hand, this is the chain on the left.

Hallmarked on the dog clips and t-bar. One dog clip, which does not swivel, and the t-bar seem to have matching marks (dog clip mark worn) for R&S with the date letter for 1919. The other dog clip, which swivels, has a hallmark for 1898. Each curb link also stamped with the lion passant for sterling.

Measures approx 40 cm / 15.75 inches wearable length. Curb links are approx 6.9 mm to 8.8 mm wide.

Weighs 57.1 grams.
