French cut diamond engagement ring dating to the Art Deco era. This single stone ring is set with a French cut diamond. French cut diamonds are a square shaped in which the girdle and table are off-set at a 90 degree angle to each other. Flanking the diamond are geometric shaped shoulders and the top is lined in milgrain beading. Adorning the shoulders leading to the top of the band is an engraved pattern.

This lovely piece is unique, it's not often we find French cut diamonds! It's set off the finger with flat sides making it easier to pair with a wedding band. The entire piece is of dainty proportions and would better suit a finger which is on the smaller side. Circa 1920s, British in origin.

Diamond: French cut, approx 2 mm square, calculated in setting as 0.04 carats.

Stamped 18ct PLAT. Professionally tested and assessed as 18 carat gold with the very top edge around the diamond in platinum. There is also a maker's mark of HS, likely for H. Samuel.

Size: UK - J; US - 4.75; EU - 49. This ring can be sized down to H / 4 / 46,5 and up to N / 6.75 / 54. Resizing available for an additional fee.
