Antique French silver long guard chain. Oval and round links are intertwined to create a slender fancy link chain. Each side of the chain terminates at a large spring bolt clasp which can be used to add pendants or charms. A large reeded heart slider is accented with Xs around it's edge. To the centre of the heart is a four leaf clover, long believed to bring their wearer's good luck. Circa early 20th century, Edwardian era.

The heart slider has two hinged sections on the back. When the chain is pinched in these and these hinged wires pushed flat against the heart, they catch the chain so that the slider is held in place. This chain does not open, it's designed to loop over the head and layer on the neck.

Small mark on the ring of the spring bolt clasp. Professionally tested and assessed as silver, 800 parts of 1000.

Measures approx 70 cm / 27.5 inches long doubled making the total wearable length 140 cm / 55 inches. Heart is 2 cm / 0.80 inches tall. Chain is 2.6 mm wide.
