Antique sapphire and diamond ring dating to the turn of the 20th century. This unique and beautiful ring houses a bezel set diamond to the centre. Four rows of channel set sapphires fan out from the centre stone connecting the centre rose cut diamonds to the halo of rose cut diamonds. The frame of diamonds forms a square cushion shape on the finger with intricate lattice work creating negative space that highlights the gemstones. At the top of the shank is a split design with the tops splaying out and each set with a small rose cut diamond and lined in milgrain beading. The gem set top of this ring is white while the under side and band are all gold. Circa 1890s - 1910s.

When this was made, it would have been made as an engagement ring. It can certainly still be worn as an engagement, however care must be taken. Today's working women who do their own chores, go to the gym, and raise their own children and pets are much more difficult on their jewellery than the gentile women of the Edwardian era who could have afforded a piece such as this.

Not hallmarked, professionally tested and assessed as 18 carat yellow gold with the top in platinum.
