Antique opal and diamond cluster ring dating to the early 20th century. What a beauty this ring is! A wonderfully coloured opal is bezel set and framed by a halo of 12 small shimmery single cut diamonds. The scalloped edge dips in and out between the diamonds giving this piece a floral look. It would have originally been an engagement ring and it's no wonder with the stunning opal and delicately glittering diamonds. The tops of the shoulders are carved to look as though there are additional stones, a clever illusion! A gold band is D shape in profile and widens slightly at the back. Circa Edwardian to Art Deco era, 1900 - 1920s, British in origin.

Opal: measures approx 6 mm by 5 mm.
