Antique aventurine drop necklace dating to the Edwardian era. The colour of this negligee design is incredible! The pale rose gold perfectly flatters the moss green of the gemstones. A delicate chain is attached to the bezel frame of a cabochon cut aventurine. At the base of this stone is matching chain from which two tapered aventurine drops swing. The gemstones vary in colour with natural lighter and darker patches running through them. Aventurine is a quartz and the gemstones in this piece have been polished smooth, making them wonderfully tactile to touch and with a soft sheen to the eye. Circa 1900 - 1920s.
