Engraved antique 9ct rose gold whistle. This lovely piece would be a beautiful addition to any necklace! A whistle has been engraved with rows of foliate style design. Textured rows of leaves alternate with large scrolling designs which are reminiscent of a fern. This whistle is the same width all around and has an oversized bail which would easily attach to a dog clip, hook or other charm holder. This whistle is full hallmarked for 1902 and a maker's mark of J.T - there are several J.T's and we've been unable to identify this maker.

In good working order, makes a high pitched whistle when used. Minor wear consistent with age and use. There is a solder mark in the back, which connects a 3D shape inside the whistle. We believe this to be a necessary part of the shape to produce the sound rather than a repair.

Hallmarked for 9 carat gold, assayed in Birmingham, 1902.

Measures approx 4.76 cm / 1.87 inches long including the bail by 1 cm / 0.40 inches wide.
