Antique 9 carat gold medal pendant. A large circle sits atop a X. Between the arms of the X is a thistle & laurel design with a crown at the top section. Thistles are the national flower of Scotland. The circle would have been meant for engraving though it's never been engraved. On the back at the edges are hallmarks leaving the back available for engraving as well - please enquire if you'd like this piece engraved. Edwardian era, circa 1900s.
In good condition. The bail has been replaced and the hallmarks a bit rubbed.
This medal would have likely originally been worn on a gentleman's watch as an ornament or fob. It's a wonderful and decorative adornment which modern women tend to wear on a chain.
Hallmarked for 9 carat gold, assayed in Glasgow 1907.
Measures approx 35.7 mm / 1.40 inches tall including the bail by 25.9 mm / 1 inch wide.
Weighs 4.3 grams.
